Meet USG 2007-2008

Executive Cabinet

President
Sahil Chaudry - schaudry@usc.edu
The President serves as the chief representative of undergraduates to the USC community, including the USC President and Board of Trustees. The President oversees all four branches of Undergraduate Student Government and serves on the Board of Governors of the USC Alumni Association and the Student Affairs Committee of the Board of Trustees.

Vice President
Max Slavkin - mslavkin@usc.edu
The Vice President assists the USG President on large issues facing the student body. The Vice President also oversees the Legislative Branch and chairs all USG meetings.

Chief of Staff
Matthew Heins - heins@usc.edu
The Chief of Staff oversees the Executive Cabinet and helps to identify and track the progress of USG projects, maintain a productive working environment, and serve as a resource for all its members. The Chief of Staff works with the President and Vice President to establish goals for the USG and addressing large issues facing the student body.

The Treasurer serves as the Chief Financial officer for the student body. Duties include overseeing the funding boards, chairing the Student Programming Fee Control Board, and creating the budget.

The Sr. Director of communications works closely with the External Relations team, making sure that communication between USG and the student body is smooth.

The Secretary works closely with the Vice President to assist in the coordination of paperwork and record-keeping of the USG. The Secretary keeps detailed minutes of all USG meetings and maintains records of USG decisions and work.

The Greek constituency consists of all active members of a fraternity/sorority. The Greek constituency is defined as a fraternity/sorority belonging to a National Interfraternity Council, National Panhellenic Council, National PanHellenic Council, Multicultural Greek Council, or Asian Greek Council and chartered at the University of Southern California.

Academic Affairs works on issues surrounding academic ethics, advising, textbooks, and other academic concerns. This committee also has programs and projects dealing with the new USG Course Guide, encouraging academic excellence, and distributing relevant information on USC academic life such as research opportunities, mentoring, and other means of integrative learning.

Campus Affairs handles such areas as the ticket office, DPS, transportation, and the health center. We are also the committee that is overseeing the new Campus Center and the new Health Center. Our role is to serve as student advocates in each of these vital fields.

Diversity Affairs is responsible for representing all minority interests on campus and serving as diversity advocates. We work to raise awareness of minority concerns, and our committee members often conduct research for advocacy proposals and organize minority awareness events.

Elections and Recruitment has two main objectives: To recruit new USG members, and to plan and organize the USG elections in February. Members of this committee will help to organize election events during the first two months of the spring semester, and will manage recruitment efforts throughout the year.

Residential Affairs seeks to address student's concerns with residential facilities, maintenance, and general quality of life of students residing in both university and non-university housing in the local area. Members of this committee will be directly involved in advocating housing issues and working with various organizations including Trojan Hospitality, Housing Advisory, URSC, Residential Education, as well as non-university housing providers.
