Greetings!
Hello and welcome to the Undergraduate Student Government of the University of Southern California! From improving academic standards to providing social outlets and leadership opportunities, USG is committed to making your USC experience as fulfilling as possible. This year Max and I encourage you to “Be the Change” in the USC community. It is one of our highest goals to empower students and work beside them as we work to create a better quality of life for fellow Trojans. Here are just a few of the many things we pledge to emphasize in our efforts during the year:
Be the Change:
At Home
Fight for a major refurbishment of all residential facilities and a safer SC.
- Create a census to help DPS allocateresources to better protect us.
- Advocate for a crosswalk on Hoover and 29th St.
- Fight for better off-campus housing practices.
- Establish a Tenant's Bill of Rights.
- Set up an off-campus housing website.
- Create off-campus building governments.
On Campus
Increase student input in campus facilities.
- Lyon Center Advisory Committee.
- Campus Center surveys.
- Strengthen communication between DPS, USG, and the Greek community.
More efficient transportation.
- Reallocate bike racks to ensure efficiency and convenience.
- Extend Electronic Tram Tracking.
- Make Campus Cruiser work for students.
Encourage involvement.
- Increase and simplify access to funding for student organizations.
- Bring student leaders together through a Council of Presidents.
- Set up a central database of events, positions, and campus jobs.
- Institutionalize an annual Galen Center concert.
In the Community
- Bring community issues to the forefront of student life.
- Enable the off-campus use of USCard.
We look forward to an amazing year in USG. Feel free to stop by our office (STU 106) with any comments, questions, or concerns. We look forward to meeting you!
Fight on!
