USG Senators Heydy Vasquez, Jeremiah Boisrond and External Affairs Member Patrick Done Launch Campus Access Feedback Form about New Security Barriers/Checkpoints

Los Angeles, CA – Today, USG Senators Heydy Vasquez, Jeremiah Boisrond and External Affairs Committee member Patrick Done announced the launch of a campus-wide feedback form aimed at collecting input from students and Recognized Student Organizations (RSOs) regarding the newly installed security barriers and checkpoints at student entrance points to campus.

The new campus access system, which was erected in July as part of the university’s heightened security measures following campus demonstrations last spring, has sparked a range of opinions about its impact on student life and campus safety. Therefore, this feedback form provides students and RSOs a platform to express their thoughts and reflections on this campus access system.

Why Your Feedback Matters
This initiative represents a direct opportunity for the USC student body to share and reflect upon how these changes have influenced their sense of community and access to campus spaces. The feedback gathered will inform future discussions between USG Senators and the university administration, ensuring that the Senators can appropriately reflect the sentiments of the student body to the administration.

Senators Heydy Vasquez, Jeremiah Boisrond and External Affairs Member Patrick Done commented, “It’s essential that student voices are heard when it comes to changes that directly affect our campus life. We want to work with the administration to find solutions that balance safety with convenience, and this feedback form is the first step in that process.”

Key Details:

  • Who can participate: All current undergraduate USC students and RSOs.
  • What to provide feedback on: Accessibility, impact on student events, feelings of safety, and any other concerns related to the new barriers.
  • How to access the form: The form is available online via this link: Student Campus Access Feedback Form, and it will remain open until November 7, 2024.

Senators Heydy Vasquez, Jeremiah Boisrond and External Affairs Member Patrick Done encourage all students and RSOs to take a few minutes to share their experiences, for the results will help inform The USG Senate’s future conversations with university administration. The central goal of this survey is to raise awareness about this important issue and ensure all student voices are amplified.
