Los Angeles, CA – “Today, I am announcing my decision to step down as the Undergraduate Student Government (USG) President. This decision does not stem from any dissatisfaction or negative feelings toward the organization. On the contrary, serving as President has been one of the most rewarding and meaningful experiences of my time at USC.

While this was not an easy decision, it is the right step for me at this time as I turn my focus toward personal matters that require my full attention. Serving as the student body president has been one of the greatest honors of my life. I have had the opportunity to learn and grow alongside the incredible USG team, the student body, and the many individuals I have interacted with throughout my tenure. It has been a true privilege to collaborate with passionate students, advisors, and administrators to push for meaningful change and progress.

I have absolute confidence in the leadership team we’ve built and the incredible work they will continue to achieve. As we look ahead to the spring semester, the Executive Cabinet and the broader Undergraduate Student Government will remain steadfast in their mission to serve and uplift the student body. From our outstanding programming teams to our funding department, from the impactful advocacy projects underway to the content produced by our communications team, every facet of USG will continue to operate with the same passion, dedication, and purpose.

Over the past years, the student government and the dedicated leaders who compose our teams year after year have spearheaded numerous significant initiatives, and this year has been no exception. I am immensely proud of everything we have accomplished together, and I am confident that USG will continue to drive meaningful change and enhance the USC experience for all students.

As I transition out of this role, I will be working with various individuals to ensure a seamless and effective handover. During the transition, we will ensure that USG continues serving the student body without interruption and that all normal operations continue.

Thank you for the privilege of allowing me to serve as your Undergraduate Student Government President. It has truly been the honor of a lifetime. I am excited to see the amazing work USG will continue to accomplish this year and in the future.” –Bryan Fernandez
