Los Angeles, CA – At the March 3rd USG Senate meeting, Vice President Fallon, Chief of Staff Borglund, Chief Communications Officer Chang, and Chief Financial Officer Horton presented updates for the month of March. Senator Murthy also gave a presentation on spring updates, and the 2026–2027 USG Executive Cabinet was confirmed.
The officers and directors presented their monthly updates, covering funding, programming, committee progress, staff developments, and legislative matters as they approach the conclusion of their terms for the year. In particular, Senator Murthy announced that her Fryft Hour Extension project will be taking place next year in conjunction with USC Transportation. She is currently surveying the student body on the specifics of that hour extension. You can find the link for said survey here.
The new USG Executive Cabinet was also confirmed. Samuel Lee, currently Director of Creative Services, will serve as Chief Communications Officer, succeeding Emily Chang. Jackson Alexander, the current Director of the Performing and Visual Arts Fund, will serve as Chief Financial Officer, succeeding Avery Horton. Shrinidhi Sriram, currently Chair of the Committee on Affordability and Basic Needs, will serve as Chief of Staff, succeeding Karen Borglund. Sage Murthy, currently Co-Executive Director of USC APASA, will serve as Chief Programming Officer, succeeding Ali Edmond. The Chief Diversity Officer position, currently held by Yasmeen ElFara, will be succeeded by Angie Del Gaudio, the current Chair of the Accessibility Committee. The Speaker of the Senate position, currently held by Senator Jeremiah Boisrond, will be filled by Senator-Elect Madison Troup.
The USG Senate meets every Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. in TCC 450 (Tutor Forum). Every Senate meeting has an open forum. This is a space for any person to express ideas and/or concerns to the Senate in a verbal manner.
