ABOUT JOSH RADNOR: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Josh Radnor continues to skillfully navigate the entertainment industry as a multifaceted artist, captivating audiences with his scene-stealing roles on screen and on stage, while also showcasing his talents as a writer, director, and musician.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier this year, Radnor toplined NBC\u2019s newfangled series, Rise, from former Friday Night Lights showrunner Jason Katims and Hamilton producer Jeffrey Seller. Inspired by Michael Sokolove\u2019s novel Drama High and the famed theatre program at Harry S. Truman High School, the music-infused drama is about finding inspiration in unexpected places. It centers on fiercely devoted teacher, Lou Mazzuchelli (Radnor), as he takes a big leap of faith and takes over the school\u2019s lackluster theater department. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Radnor is best known for his leading role as \u2018Ted Mosby\u2019 on CBS\u2019 groundbreaking Emmy nominated series, How I Met Your Mother, which proved to be one of the most beloved sitcoms in recent memory during its nine-season run. Subsequently, he demonstrated his range by tackling the role of contract surgeon \u2018Jedediah Foster\u2019 in the PBS Civil War drama, Mercy Street, from executive producers Ridley Scott, David W. Zucker, David Zabel, and Lisa Q. Wolfinger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the big screen, Radnor will next be seen in Theresa Bennett\u2019s dark romantic comedy for Paramount, Social Animals, opposite No\u00ebl Wells and Aya Cash. This follows his starring role in Jill Soloway\u2019s Afternoon Delight alongside Kathryn Hahn and Juno Temple, for which Soloway won the US Dramatic Directing Award after its premiere at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Behind the lens, Radnor has also made his mark as a director and writer. His most recent film, Liberal Arts, for which he also served as a producer and co-starred alongside Elizabeth Olsen, Richard Jenkins and Allison Janney, premiered at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival and was later released by IFC. His directorial debut, Happythankyoumoreplease, featured a star-studded ensemble cast including Richard Jenkins, Malin Akerman, Kate Mara, Zoe Kazan and Tony Hale. The film debuted at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival, where it won the Audience Award for Favorite U.S. Drama. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not only is Radnor a star on screen, he has also starred on and off Broadway in a number of theatrical productions, including his most recent performance in the world premiere of Richard Greenberg\u2019s The Babylon Line, directed by Terry Kinney. This successful run was followed by his debut as a playwright with Sacred Valley, which premiered at the Mainstage of Vassar & New York Stage and Film’s Powerhouse Theater earlier this year. Additional stage credits include the Broadway production of Ayad Akhtar\u2019s Pulitzer Prize winning play, Disgraced, which received a 2015 Tony nomination for Best Play; Roundabout Theatre Company\u2019s special one-night-only gala reading of She Loves Me; the Ovation Award-winning world premiere production of Jon Robin Baitz’s The Paris Letter; and his leading role as the title character in Terry Johnson\u2019s Broadway stage adaptation of the 1967 film and earlier novel, The Graduate. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Further expanding his array of talents, Radnor recently teamed up with his good friend, Ben Lee, to form, Radnor & Lee. The indie-folk duo released their debut self-titled album in November, which features a dynamically uplifting philosophical and spiritual element. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A native of Columbus, Ohio, Radnor attended Kenyon College where he won the Paul Newman Acting Trophy. He received his M.F.A. in acting from N.Y.U.\u2019s Tisch School of the Arts. He currently resides in Los Angeles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Academic Culture Assembly\u2019s Mental Health Awareness Month (MHAM), a flagship program of ACA, seeks to instill students with a multifaceted and informed awareness of mental health. We aim to destigmatize topics surrounding mental health by hosting events that promote thoughtful discussions which challenge students to view the intersection of mental health with their social identities and be exposed to narratives that provide a healthy perspective of mental health. MHAM is an educational and empowering initiative that builds a community of support and solidarity at USC, transforming students into advocates for themselves and for their peers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The USC Academic Culture Assembly (ACA) is an assembly under the Undergraduate Student Government Programming Branch. ACA strives to promote and foster academic curiosity through diverse, thought-provoking programming and fostering community with our fantastic member organizations!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
