The Third Annual Multicultural Retreat - Applications Now Available

The Multicultural Retreat is a collaboration between the Office of Campus Activities, the Redefining Engagement in Active Leadership (REAL) Project, and Undergraduate Student Government Diversity Affairs. The Multicultural Retreat is an opportunity for students from diverse backgrounds to challenge each other and learn about the different issues that impact the campus community. The ultimate goal of the retreat is to provide a safe space where students can engage with one another in a meaningful and productive dialogue.

The Multicultural Retreat will feature peer facilitators who will be responsible for leading discussions and activities. Professional staff will provide a basic overarching structure for the retreat and will help mediate dialogue as needed.  Students should come to the retreat with an open mind and be prepared to work on issues to promote positive change on campus. Upon conclusion of the retreat, students will develop an action plan that outlines goals and objectives for the campus community. This action plan will provide the focus for future endeavors at USC.

The Multicultural Retreat will take place the weekend of February 27 - 28, 2010 at the Courtyard Marriot in the City of Pasadena, CA. Transportation will be provided. Complete an application which can be found on the Application Clearinghouse (www.usc.edu/ca) and return it to the front desk of Hazel & Stanley Hall by February 5, 2010 at 5:00 pm. Selected students will be notified by February 10, 2010.

If you have any questions about the Multicultural retreat, contact the Office of Campus Activities at usclead@usc.edu or call 213-740-5693. Thank you for your interest and we look forward to reading your application.
