What We Do

The Undergraduate Student Government’s Programming Department works formally with many other student organizations on campus to coordinate activities and pool resources. It is made up of special interest committees and community-focused assemblies with the common goal of promoting diversity, education, and entertainment through on-campus events. 

Programming Assemblies '23-24

The Programming Branch’s 15 community-focused assemblies focus on representing the interests of students from a wide variety of backgrounds. They act as umbrella organizations for numerous member organizations, each playing an important role in event planning and sharing information at assembly meetings. Assemblies also serve as a source of funding and advisement for their member organizations.

Academic Culture Assembly

The Academic Culture Assembly encourages the pursuit of learning through interdisciplinary exploration and programming. ACA strives to remind students that learning is fun by fostering an inclusive environment that promotes curiosity and conversations beyond the classroom. ACA is an umbrella organization for academic student organizations on campus, providing a community of support, guidance, and funding for member organizations, who are encouraged to collaborate on events. Asian Pacific American Student Assembly

The Asian Pacific American Student Assembly works to celebrate and share Asian Pacific Islander Desi American (APIDA) heritage and diversity, USC APASA supports its member organizations and sponsors cultural events to foster unity and growth within and beyond the APIDA Trojan community. We strive to create a more united community, where students support each other culturally, socially, and academically by educating each other about their heritage, history, and traditions. Follow us on Instagram!

Black Student Assembly

The USC Black Student Assembly develops and strengthens leaders, services their community, and provides infrastructure that fosters camaraderie amongst students of the Black culture. BSA strives toward the advancement of those of African descent and emphasizes the importance of educating the USC and neighboring community about their shared struggles and successes. Environmental Student Assembly

The Environmental Student Assembly is dedicated to programming events promoting the green culture, sustainability, and environmental advocacy at USC. International Student Assembly

The International Student Assembly (ISA) serves as an umbrella organization to a majority of the nationality clubs on campus, working closely with the Undergraduate Student Government, member organizations, and the Office of International Services, to actively promote the international community on campus. Latine Student Assembly

The primary focus of the Latine Student Assembly is to foster pride in their incredibly diverse and nuanced culture by bringing together students of the heritage, in order to amplify and support the needs of the Latine student population. In addition, LSA continues to educated the larger student body and are committed to reimagining the role that USC plays in its surrounding community. Follow us on Instagram

Native American Student Assembly

The Native American Student Assembly is a non-profit umbrella group for Native American/American Indian student organizations at USC. As the only Native American programming entity on campus, our mission is to voice the concerns and needs of the Native American student body at USC, as well as provide Native American, American Indian, and non-native students the opportunity to connect and empower one another. Middle Eastern North African Student Assembly

The Middle Eastern North African Student Assembly organizes and facilitates spaces for MENA-identifying students and all those interested to express themselves culturally, create connections, and give back to their communities. As the focal umbrella organization for the diverse MENA cultural clubs on campus, MENASA emphasizes unity and raising awareness about the MENA region and diaspora, often misrepresented in the media and misunderstood in Western society. Political Student Assembly

The Political Student Assembly works to foster diverse and healthy political discourse and political activism among students at USC, by promoting political awareness and discussions on campus. We host a series of debate and discussion events, bring in speakers of all political stripes, and support and partner with a wide array of political organizations on campus. Follow us on Instagram!

Queer and Ally Student Assembly

The Queer and Ally Student Assembly provides social, educational, and cultural events for Queer students to engage with and participate in. We foster the LGBTQ+ community on campus through events like the annual Drag Show, Second Chance Prom, National Coming Out Month, and leadership retreats. Student Assembly for Accessibility

The mission of the Student Assembly for Accessibility is to empower and represent students with a wide variety of disabilities. SAA seeks to create a space dedicated to promoting cultural awareness of diverse experiences within the disabled community, addressing accessibility concerns, and facilitating solidarity to establish a platform for the voices of students with disabilities to be heard. Student Assembly for Gender Empowerment

The mission of the Student Assembly for Gender Empowerment is to program events to address emerging feminist concerns of students, faculty, and staff. SAGE seeks to uplift all voices oppressed by the patriarchy in dynamic, critical ways. We are a queer and trans inclusive organization working towards intersectional, collective liberation. Transfer Student Assembly

The mission of the Transfer Student Assembly (TSA) is to create a platform to advocate for and raise awareness of transfer issues on campus and assist students and administration to bridge the gap between transfer students and the greater USC community. TSA seeks to build a sense of connection to the Trojan Family, a supportive community, and provide resources for all students who might face challenges in successfully transitioning on campus to build a shared foundation for academic, social, and professional growth. Follow us on Instagram!

Concerts Committee

The Concerts Committee organizes concerts and programs to bring the hottest bands and musicians to campus! We also host individuals from the world of entertainment for our speaker series, providing our committee members with more insight to what it really means to work and thrive in the music industry. Performing Arts Committee

Performing Arts Committee strives to create innovative opportunities for creative students interested in visual and performing arts. From fostering collaboration between USC artists, to bringing in outside performers, Performing Arts Committee immerses USC students in many different art forms, ranging from dance, music, theater, painting, photography, and so much more. Trojan Pride Committee

Trojan Pride is the quintessential spirit group for any USC Trojan fan. Coordinating with the athletic department to increase visibility and attendance at USC athletic events, this organization is home to the loudest, most dedicated fans. Speakers Committee

The Speakers Committee serves the USC community by bringing a range of speakers to campus every year to provide insight, education, entertainment, and the promotion of diversity through cultural awareness.
