The University of Southern California (USC) has announced the reinstatement of the Academic Achievement Award (AAA) Scholarship program, a decision influenced by weeks of community feedback, including a petition supported by thousands advocating for the scholarship’s continuation. This update comes after initial reports on March 21 by USG’s Instagram report which noted the discontinuation of the AAA scholarship, aside from its availability to presidential and trustee scholars up until the class of 2027.

The AAA Scholarship, integral to USC’s academic community since 2010, facilitates students’ academic pursuits by allowing them to register for up to 21 units at the standard full-time tuition rate, given they maintain a GPA of 3.75 and meet certain academic planning requirements. In the 2022-2023 academic year, this program enabled 830 undergraduates to receive over $3.6 million in tuition credits. With its reinstatement, the scholarship will continue as before, maintaining its current eligibility criteria.
